Bout of Books – Fictional World Travel Challenge

Hosted by Between Library Shelves, this is Monday’s challenge/giveaway for Bout of Books 14. The challenge is to list 3-6 books that take place in countries other than the one you live in.  So, since I live in America, I can’t use any books that take place there.

The books I’ve chosen are:

Number the Stars by Lois Lowry (WWII-era Denmark)
We by Yevgeny Zamyatin (Dystopian Russia/USSR)
Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel (Mexican Revolution-era Mexico)
Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery (1900’s Canada)
Shogun by James Clavell (Alternate Warring States-era/Tokugawa-era Japan)
And Less than Kind by Mercedes Lackey and Roberta Gellis (Tudor-era England)

I highly recommend all of these books, by the way, if anyone’s looking for something new to read.

I love that you included Anne of Green Gables – it totally slipped my mind that those took place in Canada. My Day 1 Challenge
