Long Time No See

I have no excuse. I started a new job that has kept me busy, along with continuing to do theater as best as I can, but I still feel awful about this.

Moving forward, I intend to try and post at least once a week, but if I can’t then I’m just going to have to learn to be okay with that. This blog is meant to be fun and a bit of a connection to the book blogging community so I just need to let that be all right.

In happier news, I am one of three runners up in a storycrafting contest!  For those who are curious, the link to download all four winning stories is here: https://www.myth-weavers.com/showthread.php?p=14160607

My handle on that site is Siderea, but I recommend all four stories if you have the time and like fantasy.

Bout of Books 23

After more than a year of missing Bout of Books, I return to participate in it!

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly Rubidoux Apple. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 20th and runs through Sunday, August 26th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 23 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team

I’m so happy that I remembered to check if it was coming out and that I have enough time to participate at least a little.  Or I should, rather.

For this Bout of Books, my goal is to finish 2 books and read 1 chapter a day of my current Malazan read, Deadhouse Landing.  Here’s hoping I manage!

Good luck to everyone participating!

WWW Wednesday – 7/18 (late)

Whoops, I’m a couple days late with this due to losing track of days of the week!  But I still remembered before the week ended!

It’s WWW Wednesday, a weekly reading meme hosted by Sam over at Taking on a World of Words.  To participate, answer the three w’s and link up with Sam’s masterpost.  No blog?  Leave your answers in the comments section.

The three w’s are:
What are you currently reading?
What have you recently finished?
What will you read next?

Beat the Backlist Update

That’s right, it’s that time of month again (late by about two weeks, but, oh well).

My goal for Beat the Backlist 2018 was to read 50 books on my TBR published before 2018 (with any ‘random picks’ counting as bonuses but not towards the 50).

In June, I read 3 books, 2 of them on my TBR list.  If I didn’t know how well July was going so far, I’d be depressed at this rate of progress…

That puts me up to 16/50 (+6).  Yikes!  I really need to do a lot better; it’s too bad this year has been so meh reading wise, especially since I feel like I’ve mostly enjoyed my reads.

I hope you’re doing a lot better than I am, everyone else participating in this challenge!
