Beat the Backlist – February Update

My goal for Beat the Backlist 2018 was to read 50 books on my TBR published before 2018 (with any ‘random picks’ counting as bonuses but not towards the 50).

In February, I read 8 books, all of them off my TBR (3 rereads that didn’t get reviews) but one of them was published this year.

So, in the first two months of the year, I am at: 12/50 (+2).

Not bad at all.  Here’s hoping I can keep it up!

Good luck to all the other participants but especially my fellow Novel Knights!

Beat the Backlist – January Update

My goal for Beat the Backlist 2018 was to read 50 books on my TBR published before 2018 (with any ‘random picks’ counting as bonuses but not towards the 50).

In January, I read 7 books published before 2018, but 2 of them were random grabs.

In summation: 5/50 (+2)

Here’s hoping I can do better this month so I can actually reach my goal this year.

Good luck to everyone else participating, especially my fellow Novel Knights!

2018 Beat the Backlist

That’s right – I’m doing it again!  Beat the Backlist 2017 helped me start to make a dent in my TBR list, but I still have a lot left to go!  I might not have hit my goal thanks to a whole host of complications BUT that’s no reason not to try, try, try again.

So, I’ve got the same goal as last year: 50 books off my TBR.  Non-TBR books from before 2018 count as bonuses, not towards the 50.

Good luck to everyone else participating!

And if you’re interested, check out the challenge here!

Update: I’m on the Novel Knights Team!  Go Knights!

Beat the Backlist Update – November

Hello, hello.  Yes, I live despite the busy-ness of November and a rather obnoxious, long-lasting medical complication.  Said medical issue means that continued updates might be few and far between, my apologies.

Now, for the Beat the Backlist Update for October and November! (since I realized I missed October due to NaNo, whoops)

Tackle Your TBR Read-a-thon 2017 Wrap Up

The Tackle Your TBR Read-a-Thon is over as of yesterday and I am so bad for getting this wrap up post done at the end of today.

My Goal: Finish 3 books (hopefully one of them being Forge of Darkness by Steven Erikson).

Results: Well, I finished three books – Late Eclipses by Seanan McGuire, Ninefox Gambit by Yoon Ha Lee, and Endsinger by Jay Kristoff.  I still feel accomplished despite not managing to get through FoD.

Hope everyone else participating did what they wanted.  And, if not, hope you at least got some reading in!

Tackle Your TBR Read-a-Thon 2017 Mid-Point Update

So technically I’m about a day or two late with this post, but I’m just happy I’m getting it up at all between work and upcoming holidays – I can’t believe it’s already the New Year!

My goal for the read-a-thon this year was to get through three books.  So far, I’ve managed two!  But neither is Forge of Darkness by Steven Erikson, which is the one I desperately wanted to finish.  Oh well, there’s still time.  My total page count, for those interested, is currently 917.

Good luck to everyone else participating!
